Why we love Vime-oh

At Cowshed we love the video sharing site Vimeo and it turns out we're not alone.

Like with YouTube, you create personal pages and channels and then upload your stuff. But that's where the similarity ends.

The site design is (we think) miles better, the content is generally of a higher standard (you can only upload clips you have the rights for), and it supports high definition, so no more fuzzy videos when you play in full screen.

We've got a post up over at our Herd blog commenting on it's growing popularity. But in the meantime, here is a flavour of some of the stuff they currently have on there:

'Lip Dub Stars': Rather than a run of the mill lip-sync, the songs are dubbed over the footage during editing and not played while filming.

A channel devoted to users creating videos with a 'film look.'

Shoebox world. A man who films the world through a shoebox.

And a personal favourite, the Davey dance blog. 'Davey' travels the world with an ipod and a canon digicam, doing random dances to songs.
